Churches and Schools
The first major developments by Saskatchewan Settlers were Churches, Schools, Post Offices and Community Centres. Often one building would serve many purposes. Architectural styles varied with origins of settlers in most areas.

Pictured above is the Mikolas Family Farmhouse, circa 1950. Karl and Rose Mikolas raised 11 children on their modest farm, SouthEast of Gerald, Saskatchewan. Bernard Mikolas farmed the land until 2003.

Family Farms
The Family Farm is mostly a thing of the past. Today's agriculture leaves little room for small operations and many have given up their dream of a farm life to take up work in an Urban environment. This section is dedicated to those pioneers and their descendants who provided Saskatchewan with such a colourful past.
