Churches and Schools
The first major developments by Saskatchewan Settlers were Churches, Schools, Post Offices and Community Centres. Often one building would serve many purposes. Architectural styles varied with origins of settlers in most areas.

Pictured above is the Mikolas Family Farmhouse, circa 1950. Karl and Rose Mikolas raised 11 children on their modest farm, SouthEast of Gerald, Saskatchewan. Bernard Mikolas farmed the land until 2003.

Family Farms
The Family Farm is mostly a thing of the past. Today's agriculture leaves little room for small operations and many have given up their dream of a farm life to take up work in an Urban environment. This section is dedicated to those pioneers and their descendants who provided Saskatchewan with such a colourful past.

We are pleased to announce the forthcoming opening of our Digital Archive of Saskatchewan. The first achive project is of The Miner-Journal from the Esterhazy (Potashville) Region. The record begins in March of 1907 when the publication was known as "The Esterhazy Observer".
Community Digitization Projects
Areas of Digitization Events:
Ongoing - Documentation Digitization for the ChodovePeople.Com website
2006 - The RM40.Com (Rural Municipality of Bengough) cemetery records
2007 - The Miner-Journal Newspaper from Esterhazy, starting with the March 14th, 1907 edition.
2007 - Update of our website to showcase our efforts in one place!
SaskHeritage.Com is proud to bring the opportunity of preserving our history to each and every community in Saskatchewan.
SaskHeritage.Com's "Mobile Digitization Project"TM allows for communities to have their priceless history recorded without the worry of transport and damage of the articles being digitized.
SaskHeritage.Com offers their numerous services to any one group or community that would like to learn more about how to preserve and care for their historical collections. This includes setting up historical societies, learning about cemetery care, document & monument preservation and restoration and other general & specific topic seminars, guides and workshops, etc.
We offer a wide variety of digitizing methods and look forward to digitizing and preserving Saskatchewan's history in it's entirety.
Not only will we digitize the documents & articles, etc. in a building, we will also digitize the history of the building and the town/city or area it is located in.
If you would like to:
-- host a digitization project in your community, or for an organization, company, etc.
-- investigate your family history further
please feel free to contact us!
* - Although we are called SaskHeritage.Com and starting out with Saskatchewan history we are connected to the other provinces as well. There will be places all over the country that we digitize, even all over the world, just because they are places that are significant to the history of Saskatchewan and the people within!
